UK update ... and our final China photos

Been a while, eh...?

We've been in the UK for the last four weeks - initially taking some time to relax and plan, and more recently to start applications and planning for our next adventure. Despite really wanting to walk the Camino de Santiago (Santiago Trail), we've decided to hold off because of the cost and time commitment. Instead, we are going to Malta! In a few days! Oh well .... the trail maybe next time.

We've been filling in, emailing and following up on our next job and have some interviews set up now. We really hoped to find jobs in Turkey or Morocco, but our timing is a little off - most hiring for these countries is in August or September, so we've looked at some more interesting alternatives - so we have interviews set up for Japan, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.

Here are a few more photos we wanted to post of our last few days in China.

  1. will you be back stateside anytime soon? or right off to the next adventure? call if you make it back! the pictures are amazing! miss & love you both! News: Ellie ran the Boston Marathon...finished and was in the 1stAid tent (30 yards from finish line) when the bombs went off. She was not injured! Margaret (typist and dear friend) lost her 36 year old son to suicide. Carla's kids are both in high school & Trevor is driving! She is happy not to work at the hospital! IHPT now has electronic medical records! (welcome to the 20th century, right?!?) My wonderful son turned 22 years old today! He (and 2 friends/students) entered some math modeling contest (along with 5636 teams). His little threesome placed 25th and was in the top .044% (meaning he placed higher than 5611 other teams! The math was insane to me...but oh so ho-hum to him! One more year of college (5 year engineering program) and he will be done! I tore my left medial MCL and meniscus last week, so hobbling around and have an apt w/ ortho in 2 months (soonest available!). For now, gentle gardening, but no mowing the lawn, or up/down the ladder! Hope mum & dad are well. can't wait to see you - even if it is another year away! Love & Hugs! ~Kelly
